One of the largest events in the Dales is continuing its support for the military community.
The Wensleydale Agricultural Show has once again backed the Armed Services by donating a number of family tickets to Tickets For Troops. For many years the show has supported the initiative which provides free tickets to members of the Armed Forces for a variety of sporting, musical and cultural events. It also offers serving personnel, along with those medically discharged from the forces since 2001, a well-deserved opportunity to experience many differing occasions with their friends and families.
Show Secretary Helen Cuming said: “We are pleased to support Tickets For Troops; with such a large military presence on our door step it makes sense to support them in any way we can.
“We would encourage others to do the same, it is quite a simple process.”
L/Col Joe Jordan the Garrison Commander formally accepted their donation. He said: “The Tickets for Troops scheme benefits from the generosity of our ticket donors. We are grateful to Wensleydale Show for their loyalty and on-going support towards the men and women of the Armed Forces.”
