The Wensleydale Agricultural Show

The Wensleydale Agricultural Show 2017-07-15T08:03:30+00:00

This year’s show will be held on Saturday 26th August 2017

The main arena entertainment will feature:

“The Punjab Lancers” & “The Drakes of Hazard”

The Punjab Lancers were formerly known As The Prince Maliks Lancers-UK.

Tentpegging is the collective name for mounted skill at arms, based on the cavalry sport of removing wooden ‘tent pegs’ from the ground on horseback, using a sword or lance at the gallop.  The sport is around 2,500 years old, developed by Asian armies who relied on their skill with the lance to defeat their enemies.  Today’s peggers are competitive, though a little less bloodthirsty!

Mark Wylie will bring his sheepdog and duck display team to provide a fantastic crowd-pleasing demonstration to the show.  You’ll be amazed at the skill as man and dog work together in harmony to control, direct and navigate a troop of fearless Indian Runner Ducks around an obstacle course.
